A Farewell to April

For her final performance April has cast irises, pinks and phlox with a small supporting cast:)

The first Siberian iris to appear is this beauty from Carla of My Back Yard. It was a special trade that also included by tall noid daisy mum.

Japanese Roof Iris ~ Iris tectorum ~ grows side by side with Epimedium in my best part shade spot in the garden.

Mom's low Dianthus

Penstemon 'Elfin Pink' buds next to Dianthus 'Bath's Pink'

Amsonia tabernaemontana~ Eastern Bluestar

Phlox pilosa var ozarkana still going strong

Have a great weekend!

  1. Pretty flowers. Have a nice weekend. Carla

  2. Oh my, I just love your Iris Rare Treat. It is just beautiful. The Eastern Bluestar is a new bloom to me so I will have to look it up but I love the blue blooms on it. I bet the dianthus smells so wonderful.

  3. Beautiful pictures! I finally got Siberian Iris that would grow after local trades -- most of the ordered ones never made it. Japanese Roof Iris is such a beauty isn't it?

I am waiting to see if any of the Rare Treat blooms here this year. It's wonderful from any angle and especially nice with the bright blue background of the sky.
